Police Heroically Thwart Kidnapping Attempt, Recover Dangerous Weapon in Dandume

In a commendable operation led by CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, the Katsina State Police Command thwarted a kidnapping attempt in Dandume, resulting in the neutralization of a suspected bandit and the recovery of a General-Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG).
On January 25, 2024, at approximately 19:30 hrs, the Dandume divisional police received a report about suspected armed bandits approaching Dandume LGA with dangerous weapons, including a General-Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and AK-47 rifles.
In swift response, DPO Dandume mobilized forces from Operation Sharan Daji and Restore Peace, engaging the suspected bandits in a fierce gun battle, successfully repelling the attack.
During the thorough examination of the scene, the body of a suspected bandit and a General-Purpose Machine Gun, accompanied by twenty-seven rounds of 94.5mm live ammunition, were recovered.
The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, commended the officers for their bravery, dedication, and professionalism. He urged the residents to continue providing timely information on suspected criminal activities to enable swift and decisive actions against criminals in the state. The commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and property remains a top priority for the Katsina State Police Command.
